    Support us at Stewardship

Donations to help our school thrive

    Our school needs your help…

The Bishops’ Governing Body is a group of volunteers representing parents, the Local Authority and the Dioceses of Brentwood (RC) and Chelmsford (C of E).

Our role is to monitor the work of the school, be a part of its vision-making, and help make it the best place it can be for your children. Please read on to see if you can help us!

We are seeking donations to allow us to make improvements to the buildings and facilities at The Bishops’ School.

We have set up a platform to offer a simple method for you to contribute to The Bishops’ School if you have the capacity to do so.

Currently, the school is creating a five-year plan which includes redecorating classrooms, building a performing arts studio, making the paths around the school more even, renewing parts of the roof to stop some leaks and making the school more environmentally friendly. This all ties in with the happy, safe and caring environment of our school’s mission statement, enabling your children to reach their potential.

As a Voluntary Aided school, 90% of funding for capital-based projects comes from the state while the expectation is that 10% comes from funds raised by the school governors. This allows us to have more creative control in how we operate even though it comes at a cost!

In the past, modest monthly donations from members of our school community have made valuable contributions towards things like the MUGA and year 6 block. More recently, these donations have supported improvements such as enhanced energy efficient lighting around the school.

Through the Stewardship website you could donate towards the infrastructure whilst also attracting gift aid (an extra 25p for every £1 donated), where available, to maximise impact. It also provides a method of donation for those in our school community that may not be directly attending school events i.e. friends, grandparents, past students or families of past students.

As a school, we are forever appreciative of any donations, but we understand that everyone’s situation is different, and we only ask that you consider donating to the school if you have the capacity to do so.

Thank you for reading. If you would like to set up a donation or spread the word about our Stewardship platform to others, please feel free to use the link below.
